Read to a Dog

Read to a dog, the program designed for reluctant readers to help become comfortable reading out loud. Kids and teens have the opportunity for a 15 minute, one-on-one reading session with a registered therapy dog and their handler. Check out the Omaha Public Library events page to find out which branches participate. Then, Angela Fernandez gives a book talk on the novel The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson.

David started in broadcasting at his hometown radio station in Holdrege, Nebraska while still in high school. He went on to earn journalism and law degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and has worked for a number of radio and television stations around the United States. He is a big advocate for community media and loves being a part of the local fabric of NPR. He also has a cat.
