Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a metro-wide, do good takeover  powered by SHARE Omaha.  Each of us, contributing a single act of real-life good throughout the Omaha metro, into our world will make a difference. Volunteer, donate, surprise someone with kindness — just put positivity out there.  And watch it take over.

You can donate directly to Omaha Public Radio, KIOS-FM through the SHARE Omaha site at this link: https://shareomaha.org/donate/3756?token=EC-3TN5933021475860K

Launched in the United States in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving.  Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday and kicks off the giving season.  More information about the global campaign can be found at GivingTuesday.org.

This year, Giving Tuesday is December 3, 2019.  Executive Director of Share Omaha, Marjorie Maas, stopped into the KIOS-FM studios to chat "Live & Local" with Mike Hogan about how those of us in the area can give to our favorite charities using the "#GivingTuesday402," "#GivingTuesday712" and "#24HoursofImpact."  One can also get more information by going to the websites https://givingtuesday402.org/ and https://givingtuesday712.org/.

This Giving Tuesday, let’s ignite local generosity.  Volunteer, donate, surprise someone with kindness – just put positivity out there.  And watch it take over.

Today is "Giving Tuesday" and the Omaha Community Foundation is right in the mix!  The OmahaGives.org website remains up and running year-round allowing everyone to donate to any and all of a thousand non-profits in the greater Omaha area.

Ally Freeman, Communications Manager for the Omaha Community Foundation, stops by the KIOS studios to chat with Mike Hogan about this day of philanthropic activity, how the foundation can help both donors and charities, and how to use the #OmahaKeepsGiving hashtag to let the community know you're involved.
