Vesper Concerts is bringing together percussion wizards Arx Duo with acclaimed pianists Qing Jiang and Sean Chen for a Midwest premiere of composer Nick DiBerardino’s Atlas, a work in honor of the 50-year anniversary of the landing on the moon (1969).  Atlas will celebrate the art of creation, exploring sonic spaces with a sense of wonder about the universe, the spaces we inhabit within it, and the spaces we might someday traverse.  Composer Nick DeBerardino will be a special guest. Do not pass up the chance to see this one-of-a-kind Omaha performance.

A Gospel Experience: Building Community with Dr. Raymond Wise and Dr. Derrick Fox, the choirs of UNO, Bellevue East, Creighton Prep, Presbyterian Church of the Cross, and community members are all in concert on October 13th.  The concert is free and at Countryside Community Church, (13130 Faith Plaza, Omaha, 68144) at 3:00.

This Sunday, September 8th, at 5:30 p.m. (instead of the usual 3 p.m.) Vepser Concert Series presents a real treat, Camille Metoyer Moten. 

So, pack a picnic basket, bring your blankets and lawn chairs and join us for an outdoor concert with Omaha jazz legend Camille Metoyer Moten and her band.  A versatile singer, performing in styles ranging from opera to musical theater, jazz and gospel, Camille has clearly made a lasting mark on Omaha’s musical scene.

Vesper Concerts Executive Director, Krisit Treu chats with Mike Hogan "Live & Local" about this special evening of jazz on the patio this Sunday, September 8, at 5:30 p.m. on the lawn of Presbyterian Church of the Cross1517 S. 114th St., Omaha.  In the event of inclement weather, we will move the concert indoors.

International opera star and Omaha resident Taylor Stayton’s “laser-bright timbre” and “exceptional fluidity above the staff” (Opera News) continue to distinguish him as one of the most sought-after tenors in his repertoire!  Taylor will be joined by Omaha arts icon (and former Artistic Director for nearly 10 years at Opera Omaha) Hal France for this collaboration in an intriguing program of arias from "Proving Up" and "Eric Hermannsons’s Soul," two operas that are set in Nebraska and written by women composers, as well as some of Taylor’s favorite songs and arias.  

The program is called "At Home In Nebraska" with a performance on August 25, 3:00 pm, at Presbyterian Church of the Cross, 1517 S. 114th St. in Omaha.   Hal and Taylor join Mike Hogan live at the KIOS-FM studios to chat about the program and the ever-growing artistic scene in Omaha.

Omaha musicians Olga Smola, violin, and Brian Sherwood, cello, will join Taylor and Hal as featured guests.  More information can be found at http://vesperconcerts.org

Hailed as a “brilliant pianist” (Financial Times), Kate Campbell performs frequently as a soloist and chamber musician specializing in 20th and 21st-century music.  She has worked closely with many of the most prominent composers of our time and is at home with styles ranging from thorny modernism to “sleek and spirited” minimalism (SF Chronicle).

Vesper Concert Series Performers Stop by KIOS-FM

"Trio Fortutio" is performing “The Human Factor” on Sunday, November 18th as part of the Vesper Concert Series.  Show time is 3:00 at 1517 South 114th Street (114th and Pacific).  The conceert is free and open to the public.

Christine Erlander Beard, (flute/piccolo) and Rodrigo Alquati, (cello, from Brazil) join Mike Hogan "Live & Local" to discuss the formation of the trio, the music, and a whole lot more.

Quince (pronounced "Kwinse") Ensemble is Vesper Concerts’ Resident Ensemble for the 2018-19 season. On October 21, at 3 p.m., Quince is collaborating with area high school and college students for a collaborative choral concert.  This concert is culmination of a one-of-a-kind educational retreat led by Quince Ensemble in collaboration with vocal students from Bellevue East and West High Schools, Lincoln East High School and the University of Nebraska Choral Department.  The concert is free.
